Network Printer Not Printing
Nothing is printing from the network printer. Jobs appear to be stuck in the print queue. Check the status of the printer for power, that the display says Ready and/or any other error messages. If the printer says Offline, press the red/orange button etc. to change the status to Ready. If everything is normal with the printer, check the print queue from your computer. On the desktop toolbar, next to the clock, check to see if the printer icon is showing and if a ? appears on this or if there are any error messages displayed. The printer may be set to work offline. Click on Start and then Printers and Faxes. The printer should say Ready. If the printer says Offline, right click on the printer and then left click on "Use printer Online" and the status should change to Ready. When the printer is Online the print jobs in the queue should automatically print. If you are not able to change the network printer status to Online from the printer and/or your computer, contact the IT Helpdesk at 786.2555 or helpme@llcc.edu with the printer name and detailed description and a technician will be notified of the need for assistance.

How to hold a print job until you are physically present at the printer
Some typical reasons for needing this feature are: The document is sensitive, and you do not want it to sit around for others to view. The document has specific paper requirements. From the application you are printing from you need to find the printer settings. Here is where it is from Word: In the printer properties from the Job Handling tab set the Document filing to Hold Only and note it is stored to the “Main Folder.” Later when you are done you want to make sure that these properties are set back to their original settings which is: Document Filing = “None”. Go ahead and print the document. With the “Hold” printer job settings. Now at the printer where you sent the document, tap on the screen of the Multi-Function Printer or tap on the home button to the right of the screen. (You can always get back to this screen by tapping on the home button.) Now choose Job Status. The job queue will NOT show the document you sent to the printer! The document is on the hard drive of the printer. Tap on the Job Status icon in the top left corner of the screen. On the menu that pops up, choose HDD File retrieve. The HDD File retrieve will not show your job, since you still need to select where the file was stored. In this case it was stored in the “Main Folder.” Tap on the “Main Folder” button. In the main folder you should see the document you sent to the printer. Tap on it to select it. With the job selected you can: Change some printing settings See what details belong to the document Print it. After you are finished, make sure to delete the print job.
