Three Yealink models are being deployed at Lincoln Land Community College. The smaller M50 and M54 models have similar form factors and can easily be confused on first sight.
- The M50 connects to your computer via a USB port and must be supplied power through an adapter connected to a plug in the wall. It will not function properly without Skype for Business running in the background on your computer.
- The M54 is connected to the network via an ethernet cable. Typically, the network cable continues from your M54 to your computer. The M54 draws its power from the network cable and does not need a separate power cord.
The large screen M56 supports the most features. Like the smaller M54 it is connected to the network via an ethernet cable. Your computer’s network cable and typically connects to your Yealink M56 phone. Similar to the smaller m54 the large screen m56 phone draws its power from the network cable and does not need a separate power cord.
