A paper jam in a deskjet printer can be removed only after the power is turned off and the power cable disconnected.
Never pull the paper back out the front of the printer, as this can permanently damage the gears.
Lift the front cover (if possible) to determine if you can see the paper and if it is possible to pull it through. If not, look on the back of the printer to determine if you can remove a back access panel.
After removing the panel the paper should be clearly visible.
Remove the paper jam and return the access panel.
Remove the paper from the paper feed tray and check to see if there are any curled up edges that may be causing the paper to jam.
Plug the power cable back into the printer and power the printer on.
Any print jobs in the queue should begin to print.
If you continue to have paper that jams or if you are not able to remove the paper jam, contact the ITS Service Desk at 786-2555, submit a ticket or send an email to helpme@llcc.edu to request assistance.
