How to Handle a Security Breach

If you feel that you may have been subjected to a security breach,  follow these steps:

1. Stay calm and collect all of the information that you can remember on the interaction.
2. Immediately change your LLCC password
3. Notify the IT Help Desk at 217.786.2555, helpme@llcc.edu or by reporting the incident in our online portal here.  Be sure to be thorough and include times and contact information when available.
4. Change all online account passwords immediately as these may have been leaked to the attacker. 
5. Check with any financial institutions for issues, such as fraudulent charges.
